Fulham Sign Olivier Dacourt from Inter

Inter - Dacourt

Football News - Olivier Dacourt has signed for Fulham from Inter on a six-month loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

“Fulham has announced the loan signing of midfielder Olivier Dacourt from Inter Milan until until 30 June 2009,” reads an official statement on Fulham’s website.

Dacourt, 34, has been on the fringes of Jose Mourinho’s side and of in fact rose to prominence as part of a high-flying Leeds United side before leaving for Italy in 2003.

Roma was his destination, where he spent three years before becoming one of the Nerazzurri in 2006. He was largely a back-up player, though he played a significant role in one of Inter’s Scudetto triumphs after an injury to Patrick Vieira.

The former French international will provide much experience in Fulham’s midfield, since the departure of fan favourite Jimmy Bullard to Hull City earlier this month.

In addition, Danny Murphy has signed a one-year extension to his contract at the Cottage, having signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 2007.
