Football News – Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli made his first appearance in the Italian top-flight on Sunday, helping his team beat Catania 1-0 in the 22nd matchday of Serie A.

The Italy Under-21 player admitted that he had been looking forward to the day when he finally made his first-team bow, and he was thrilled when the moment finally arrived.

“Since I was a kid, I dreamt about the debut in Serie A,” revealed Consigli.

“I’m satisfied, also because we were coming from two consecutive defeats and we almost had the obligation to win at home.

“The coach and my team-mates were very good to allow me to be calm, even [Ferdinando] Coppola who was close to me and helped me.

“He’s a great goalkeeper and a great person. My team-mates helped me by playing high and allowing me to come out.”

Atalanta will face a tough game on Sunday, as they will travel to Sardinia to face an in-form Cagliari side.
