Mauro Camoranesi Out For Several Weeks
Football News – Juventus ace Mauro Camoranesi is set to miss ‘several weeks’ of action after scans revealed he suffered a broken rib. His injury was sustained during the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
Sky Sport Italia claims the Italian international underwent further examinations by club doctor Ricardo Agricola on Thursday afternoon and a scan revealed the worst news for the Bianconeri.
Camoranesi will have to sit out the next few weeks and he is likely to miss the return leg of the Champions League clash with the Blues in less than two weeks.
The player was seen clutching his left side after a heavy challenge by Frank Lampard in the second half left him splattered on the Stamford Bridge turf.
It’s not the news coach Claudio Ranieri would have wanted to hear as he already has a number of injury concerns in midfield. The result of the scans were confirmed to Sky Sport Italia by Agricola who said the recovery would take ‘several weeks’
Normally, a broken rib takes between six to eight weeks to fully recover. This means the player will miss key matches in Serie A, Europe and the Coppa Italia.
