New Valencia Stadium Put On Hold

Valencia Football News- New Valencia Stadium

Football NewsValencia‘s financial problems seem to be spreading further through the club as it was revealed today that the building of the new stadium has had to be put on hold.

Los Che have been known to be in financial trouble for a while and have not paid various players for weeks, and this is yet another indication that all is far from well.

The decision to stop building for now has been reached by the club and the Temporary Union of Business and it is not known when it will resume.

The work is entering a phase when great investment will be needed for materials, and this is the reason why it has been called to a halt.

Marca reveals that sources have said this will not mean the project is abandoned all together, rather just paused for now.

“This decision is not a final one, but is just a temporary decision because of the high price of steel and other materials, something that cannot be bought at this moment,” says the source.

The work on the stadium began in August 2007 but it has slowed down lately and at the start of the week was practically non-existent.

The intention of the club was to be able to play in the stadium from the start of next season, but that will now be almost impossible.

It is more likely that it will be completed the following season, if Valencia manage to resolve their problems.
