Seedorf: AC Milan Can Still Finish Second

AC Milan - SeedorfAC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf believes that the Rossoneri still have a chance to catch Juventus, even though they currently trail them by seven points.

“I think it’s fair that we look forward without fear and try to reach second place. It will act as an important stimulus for us, there are still many important matches to play,” he suggested to the Corierre dello Sport.

“We must play our best, because even if some games seem easy on paper, we know they will be challenging.”

Milan host relegation-threatened Lecce on Sunday at the San Siro and the Dutchman recalled the last time these two teams faced off at the Stadio Via del Mare when the Salentini scored a late equaliser.

“It certainly left a bitter taste, because we had played a good match, but in the end it slipped away from our grasp,” he explained. “Sunday, it will be a different game with the right spirit. We have the will to win and absolutely need three points.”

The 33-year-old has made 25 league appearances this campaign, finding the back of the net four times in the process.
