Del Piero Doesn’t Envy Inter
Juventus skipper Alessandro Del Piero is preparing to lead his team mates against the Inter on Saturday night, but he is adamant that he is not jealous of the Nerazzurri’s supremacy in Italy over the past few years. “I don’t envy them at all,” he said to Sportweek. “I am proud of my years with the Bianconeri, including the last ones, which have been the most difficult.
“My contract will expire in 2010 and at the moment I would prefer to concentrate on the three remaining months of the season, which will be very important for me and Juve.”
Juve were demoted to Serie B in 2006 in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic jumped ship to join Inter.
“I don’t feel there is anything to forgive him for,” stressed ‘Pinturicchio’.
“We dropped to Serie B and he moved on to another team. That was his choice. I don’t know if it was him who changed Inter. I feel that was down to [Inter president Massimo] Moratti’s money.”
