Hamburg Coach Martin Jol Favourite For Bayern Munich Job

Hamburg Football News - Martin JolCurrent Hamburg coach Martin Jol is now the favourite to take over at the Allianz Arena, according to reports from The Times. The news comes in the wake of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s refusal to be persuaded by the massive transfer kitty offered to him by Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Ex-Inter manager Roberto Mancini is also amongst those rumoured as a potential replacement for recently sacked Jurgen Klinsmann, but as it stands, former Spurs gaffer Jol is the suggested favourite for the job.

Jol’s success with Hamburg this year has seen the club rise to the top of the Bundesliga already this season, with the Dutchman also steering the team to the semi-finals of the UEFA cup.

Jol’s achievements with Hamburg is sure to have sparked the interest of the Bavarian board members, as similar success was expected to be delivered by Klinsmann.

Jupp Heynckes – who has had domestic success with Bayern in the past at a managerial level – has been put in charge of the current Bundesliga champions for the last five games of the season.
