Liverpool’s Sami Hyypia To Join Wolverhampton Wanderers?
In the wake of Rafa Benitez’s recent admission that he must sell some Reds to buy in new talent, Wolverhampton Wanderers coach Mick McCarthy has expressed his interest in Sami Hyypia.
The news came after rumours that Hyypia would be available on a Bosman free transfer in the summer, which has greatly interested ex-Manchester City defender McCarthy.
“If Sami Hyypia was available and would consider coming to Wolves as a club who have just come up, then great,” the Wolves gaffer told Wolverhampton newspaper The Express and Star.
“If Sami is on a Bosman and we could talk about it, then of course I’d be interested.
“But he’s been linked with a quite a few clubs.”
The release of Hyypia by Liverpool would free up money that is currently in the form of the Finn’s wages, allowing Rafa Benitez the opportunity to bring in the new blood that he wants at the club.
