Roque Santa Cruz Wants To Leave Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers Football News - Roque Santa CruzRoque Santa Cruz has once more admitted that he would like a transfer away from Blackburn Rovers at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to several Premier League rivals, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. While the 61-time capped Paraguay international striker, who has scored 20 goals for his country, says he would like to join to a so-called ‘bigger’ club, he insists his future has not been decided.

I would not mind moving on, if it was a big team and if the conditions were right,” Santa Cruz told Paraguayan radio station 970 AM.

People are interested in what is going to happen to players next season. Rumours come from somewhere, but there is nothing official.”

It is thought that the 6ft 2in forward has a minimum fee release clause in his current contract which has been set at between £18-20 million. It was earlier reported that Spurs would rival the Citizens for his signature, but it seems that the former Bayern Munich star favours a move to either Eastlands or Anfield so that his family do not have to leave Cheshire.

“He’d still fancy City but does not know if [manager] Mark Hughes will stay so a move to Anfield would appeal. He likes the idea of a Spanish manager,” an inside source is quoted as saying by The Sun.
