Wolfsburg Gets Thomas Kahlenberg From Auxerre
Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg have completed the transfer of highly rated Danish international midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg from French side Auxerre for an undisclosed fee.
Kahlenberg has signed a four-year deal with the German champions. Kahlenberg joined Auxerre from Brondby in 2005 and has made more than 100 league appearances since. However, the 26-year-old recently stated that he was ready for the next step in his career and has now fulfilled that ambition.
“I’m very happy to be playing for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga next term. Wolfsburg have a very good squad and I’m looking forward to making an impact in Germany,” said Kahlenberg to the official Wolfsburg website.
“I want to develop into an important first team member and help the team to more Bundesliga success. Additionally, I want to aid Wolfsburg in their Champions League adventure.”
Wolfsburg were surprisingly crowned Bundesliga champions last weekend and are expected to seriously strengthen their squad this summer in order to be competitive on the continent.
