Adriano Set To Make Flamengo Debut

Flamengo Football News - AdrianoA former star of the Italian top flight, Adriano is set to make his debut for Flamengo, in the Campeonato Brasilieiro Serie A next weekend.

The troubled Brazilian parted ways with Serie A giants Inter earlier in the year, which was put down to personal problems that he was experiencing. He then signed a one-year deal with his new Brazilian team on May 6 to make the move official.

According to the latest reports from Goal Italia, the coach of the Mengo, Cuca has confirmed that his star player will take part in Flamengo’s next match against Atletico Parana at home at the Maracanà in Rio de Janeiro. The coach is still undecided as to whether or not the 27-year-old will start on the field or come off the bench, however he will certainly play, especially considering the issues the club have up front at present.

In fact, Flamengo have a minor crisis in their attacking ranks, as not only did they recently offload Obina to Palmeiras, but two of their key forwards in Emerson and Josiel are both out injured. The announcement of Adriano’s debut has sparked fans into action, as an incredible amount of tickets have already been sold for that match, making this an extremely beneficial investment for the club.
