Ancelotti Will Get €1 Million If Chelsea Wins Champions League
Carlo Ancelotti has been presented as the new coach at Chelsea and made it clear that continental success was they key during his first words in the role on Monday.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is keen to bring Champions League glory to the Pensioners and according to La Repubblica, the Italian tactician is being offered a hefty incentive, in the form of €1 million should he be able to capture Europe’s top club prize.
Ancelotti won the competition twice during an eight year stint, 2003 and 2007, with the Rossoneri and also made it to the final on another occasion, losing to Liverpool.
Under the leadership of caretaker boss Guus Hiddink, Chelsea made it to the semi-finals of this season’s competition, only to concede an injury time strike to Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta and lose on the away goals rule.
