Tugay Will Join Manchester City As A Coach
Tugay is set to link up with his former manager at Blackburn Rovers, Mark Hughes, it seems, as the recently retired midfielder has announced that he will soon be joining Manchester City in a coaching role.
The former Rangers player said farewell to his playing career with an emotional appearance as skipper for Blackburn against West Bromwich Albion on the last day of the Premier League season at Ewood Park. However, the former playmaker, known for his ability to ping passes from a deep-lying midfield role, is seemingly set for a speedy comeback.
“I made an agreement with Manchester City and will work as a coach,” he is reported in the English press as telling Turkish media outlet NTV.
“To work there will be a huge step for me. When I feel strong enough, then I will begin to work as a technical director.”
It looks set to be a busy summer of recruitment at Eastlands, with Hughes today having, somewhat surprisingly, secured the services of England midfielder Gareth Barry, who moved for a reported £12 million and has signed a four-year deal in Manchester.
