Marco Materazzi Signs New Inter Deal
Inter defender Marco Materazzi has signed a new contract with the club, that will keep him at the San Siro for another three seasons.
“FC Internazionale and Marco Materazzi communicate with mutual satisfaction, filed this morning with the national professional league offices, the agreement for an extension which will bind the player to the club until 30 June 2012,” revealed a statement on the club’s official website, inter.it.
The 35-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Perugia in 2001 and has contributed to their last four consecutive Serie A championship victories, although this past season he only made 15 appearances in all competitions under coach Jose Mourinho.
Overall, he has made 245 appearances for Inter, scoring 20 goals, and was also a key figure in Italy’s 2006 World Cup winning squad.
