Sulley Muntari Never Thought about Leaving Inter

Sulley MuntariInter midfielder Sulley Muntari has once and for all ended speculation that he is considering leaving the Italian champions once the transfer market re-opens next January.

The 25-year-old has looked a shadow of his former self in the early stages of this season and was resoundingly jeered off the pitch by the San Siro crowd during the Beneamata’s 2-1 win over Udinese before the international break.

The incident sent the rumour mill into overdrive and there were suggestions he was prepared to pack his bags and return to England.

Muntari spent the 2007-08 season at Portsmouth and reportedly boasts a long line of suitors in the Premier League, including Tottenham Hotspur.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Muntari told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday.

“I’d rather keep working in peace. My objective is to win back [the trust] of the entire Nerazzurri population as soon as possible.

“However, I want to make one thing clear again: I’ve never thought about leaving Inter next January and I intend to stay here because we can keep winning.”
