Real Valladolid coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has said he believes his side can beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Saturday and added that he side believe in what they do.

“We have possibilities. We have full trust in what we do but we know that it is very difficult. This is football and we have our options. We will approach the game like any other, with respect and knowing that we will face better players than other Sundays,” he told AS.

Mendilibar says that the best way to go into the game with Madrid is to stick to their own game plan and not go there trying to play for a draw.

“There are no guarantees so it is clear to me that it is best to be faithful to our own principles, be ourselves and be ready because they [Madrid] won’t be forgiving,” Mendilibar remarked.

He also said he believes that it will take time for Madrid to gel into a team like Barcelona.

“In my opinion, Madrid will take time. There are lots of new people and with great quality. It is not easy to combine all of that. I am sure that they will get better as the days go by. Now they do not play as bad as some say, but they can not be compared with Barca, who have played the same together for a long time,” he noted.
