Bayer Leverkusen‘s hopes to win this years Bundesliga took an early dent as they could only manage a draw at home to a brave Borussia Dortmund side.

Lars Bender had the first chance of the game for Leverkusen, but with the goal waiting after two minutes he shot wide rather than even testing Roman Weidenfeller.

After just eight minutes the hosts went one-nil down. Nelson Valdez got the better of Daniel Schwaab before crossing for Lucas Barrios to head past Rene Adler.

Four minutes after the hour mark the hosts levelled. Manuel Friedrich got in between Sven Bender and Neven Subotic to rise highest and meet Tranquillo Barnetta’s corner.
