Quique Sanchez Flores (sport)

After the dismissal of Abel Resino earlier in the day, Quique Sanchez Flores has been officially confirmed as the new coach of Atletico Madrid on Friday night.

Via a statement on the club’s website, Atletico announced late on Friday, that Flores and the club have reached a formal agreement, which will initially tie the former Real Madrid youth coach to the club until the end of the current campaign. He will be unveiled at the Vicente Calderon stadium at 10:30 CET on Monday morning.

Flores has spent three previous seasons in the Primera Liga with Getafe in 2004/05, finishing 13th in their first season in Spain’s top flight, followed immediately by a two-year stint at Valencia.
