Inter Milan Will Loan Davide Santon to Genoa

Serie A Football News – According to Tuttosport, Inter defender Davide Santon may consider moving to Genoa on loan in January so he doesn’t jeopardise his World Cup chances.

The 18-year-old has been struggling to hold down a regular place in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI this term. And he fears that being a peripheral figure at the club could put his place in the Italy squad who will travel to South Africa in danger.

The report suggests a loan move to Genoa may be a good solution for Santon. Marcello Lippi has given Santon a number of chances recently, but a lack of football may certainly hinder his relationship with the Azzurri.

It is said a deal with the Grifoni would be possible, as the two clubs enjoy a good relationship following the Thiago Motta, Diego Milito and Hernan Crespo deals.

Earlier reports suggested Santon was being overlooked by Mourinho because of his active nightlife, but chief executive Ernesto Paolillo explained that this was no longer the case.

“Santon has shown he is a great guy and he did admit that he used to go out plenty. He understood he was wrong and started to train better. He knew Mourinho was right,” said the official.
