Serie A Football News – According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Lazio defender Aleksandar Kolarov has pledged his allegiance to the Rome club, and believes they can overcome their current struggles in the league.
The Aquilotti are dangling just above the relegation zone, their loss at home to Cagliari in midweek prompting fans to throw explosives into the Formello training ground.
Despite all the disruption, Kolarov wants to remain, and he has given his reasons for the recent fall-out with some supporters.
“I want to stay. I could never go to another club as I have a solid contract. I have never said I wanted to leave,” Kolarov said.
The player seemed to stoke the fire when he gestured to angry fans recently, but believes calm will soon be restored among the senators in the curva.
“I couldn’t understand why the fans whistled and offended us and so I went under the stands to applaud them ironically, then the issue escalated,” added the Serbian.
“I think the fans’ frustration will go away once we begin winning. We just need three points and then we can fight for third place as those are the areas that will reflect our quality.”
