La Liga Football News - Marca reports that Ruud van Nistelrooy has declared that he wants to continue his career with Real Madrid and is not giving up on his dream of winning more trophies with the club.

“That’s why I’m still here,” van Nistelrooy said.

“Given what happened in the cup, both the team and myself need to improve. I’m training and getting better, but I’m not stupid – I know what the situation is but I won’t give up.

“I’m going to try, I will give everything to play. If it doesn’t prove to be enough at the end of the season, we’ll see, but I will do everything to return,” he added.

“I want to finish how I started with Real Madrid, and my physical condition is key to this. And after the game in the cup I knew I was fine in this sense.

“If you have a knee that says it can’t go on, you say ‘fine, it’s impossible to return to my best level. But Tuesday was an important day because after the game I saw that it was fine.

“My body has responded and this gives me hope to return to where I was before.”
