Uruguay Defender Bruno Silva Heading For Ajax Exit
Eredivisie Football News – Official Ajax website indicates that defender Bruno Silva looks to be leaving the Amsterdam ArenA. The Uruguayan full-back is ready to move on as he is finding regular first team football hard to come by at Ajax.
Bruno Silva joined Ajax from Groningen in January 2008. However, he hasn’t been playing for the starting XI for well over a year now.
“I will definitely discuss my future at Ajax with the club’s representatives if Uruguay manage to qualify for the 2010 World Cup. I’m still a regular at Uruguay, but I can’t afford to warm the bench at Ajax any longer,” the 29-year-old right back said.
“I understand that Gregory van der Wiel is doing a great job at my position. However, it’s very important for me to get regular first team action. I have no problem with the coach, but I want more playing time.”
Silva’s current contract with Ajax is due to expire in the summer of 2012.
