John Terry Still Targets 90 Points For Chelsea
Speaking after the Blues’ thrilling 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday, Chelsea captain John Terry brushed aside suggestions that a more competitive Premier League would mean the big clubs dropping more points than usual this season.
Chelsea have now failed to win for a fourth straight game, and lead the Premier League despite having been beaten three times already this term; last year champions Manchester United lost just four games all season and second-placed Liverpool only two.
“I keep hearing that the top teams will win fewer points and suffer more defeats this time around, and, because we’ve already suffered three losses, people buy into that argument. I don’t,” Terry told Sky Sports.
The Blues captain says he sees no reason Chelsea should not aim for the 90-point mark that secured them the title in 2005 and 2006.
“That’s what we achieved both seasons we won the title, and in all the seasons since then it would have been enough to win it again. We need to keep at the level we have set. There is no rest in football, we have to be prepared and perform at the highest level all the time.” he added
