Champions League Football News - The draw for the first knockout round in the Champions League ended up quite special for Karim Benzema, as his current team Real Madrid will face his former club Olympique Lyonnais.

Benzema spent five years with les Gones prior to making a €35 million transfer to the free-spending Merengues this summer, but he revealed to L’Equipe that he is “really pleased” to have the chance to face his old side.

“To play against Lyon means a lot,” the 22-year-old added, before analysing the clash itself.

“Lyon will be a difficult opponent. They are a team of good players who have a lot of experience in the Champions League. It will be tough, but we’ll get through it,” he mused.
