Andrey Arshavin: Premier League is Tough!

Andrey Arshavin English Premier League Football NewsArsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has admitted that the Premier League turns out to be harder than he expected, following his switch from Zenit St Petersburg last season.

The fleet-footed make-shift striker insisted that, unlike other leagues, the margin for error is very little when playing against teams in England.

The diminutive Russian has gone on to become a big hit with the fans, scoring 12 times in 27 appearances in the league, including five against Liverpool.

Despite his success so far, the 28-year-old maintains that his time in the top-flight has been harder than he had initially anticipated.

“I expected before I moved to England, if you are a good player if you play for a big team it is easier, But even if you play against Burnley or Wolverhampton [Wanderers], it is not easy – you don’t have time to turn or do any dribbling, if you get two touches you’re lucky.” Arshavin told Sky Sports News.

The Gunner feels that consistency is key for his side to remain in the hunt for the league title.

“We have had some chances to be very close to the top but we have not taken them so I am a little disappointed, But now if we win games in hand we are still in the race but at the same time we cannot lose more points.” he added.
