Everton‘s new loan signing Landon Donovan – who is due to begin a 10-week spell on loan from LA Galaxy and will line up alongside fellow American Tim Howard – admitted that he is very much looking forward to life in his new club.

“I am ready to enjoy it and I want to personally get myself sharp while I am here, Tim Howard has had nothing but great things to say about this team so I am excited.” he told Everton.tv.

In a move akin to that of David Beckham’s temporary switch to AC Milan, Donovan views the arrangement with Everton as an ideal opportunity to maintain fitness and form ahead of this year’s World Cup in South Africa.

“Going into a World Cup year this experience will keep me sharp,” he added.
