Ten-Man Juventus Gets Victory Against Parma

JUVENTUSJuventus got a much needed victory at Parma, as the team started off 2010 on the right track, leaving the title hopefuls nine points behind Inter in Serie A.

Juventus took an early lead on their first attempt! A corner was nodded back into the fray by Giorgio Chiellini and an unmarked Hasan Salihamidzic headed in from close range.

Parma found their equaliser through former Bianconero Nicola Amoruso, whose header beat Manninger at the near post after a fine cross by Damiano Zenoni.

Juventus took the lead again in very similar circumstances to their first goal against the run of play, it was a clumsy own goal from Paolo Castellini on a chaotic corner and the visitors were perhaps a bit fortunate to have an advantage going into half-time.

Despite the numerical advantage and throwing men forward, Parma failed to muster up the energy they showed in the first-half and could not create any more concrete chances as Juventus held on for the win.
