Arsene Wenger: Arsenal Were Lucky to Beat Everton

EPL Football NewsArsenal came from behind twice to snatch a 2-2 draw with Everton, and the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger praised the character of his side. The Arsenal boss also paid tribute to Everton who fought and scrapped for a point at the Emirates, according to Sky Sports.

“They stopped us from playing, we didn’t find our flow and they were very sharp, It was closer to 3-1 at one stage but in the end our spirit got us back –we didn’t stop, kept going to the end and in the end we got a point.” He said.

Wenger also admits his side were fortunate that his side benefited from two deflections that left Tim Howard helpless.

“In the end the deflections went for us – we were a bit lucky on that but as I said the second goal was well played.” Wenger added.

Tomas Rosicky struck in the 93rd minute to earn a point for his side but it was not enough to send the Gunners into second place in the Premier League.
