David Moyes: Everton Should Have Won Against Arsenal

EPL Football NewsEverton failed to hold on to their lead against Arsenal and manager David Moyes believes his side deserved more than a point after their 2-2 draw with the Gunners at the Emirates. Deflected strikes from Denilson and Tomas Rosicky denied the Toffees a rare win over Arsene Wenger’s side.

“This should have been our day, we deserved to win today. We played well enough, created enough chances and we should be coming away with three points today. Overall, as the second half wore on Arsenal got much better but I thought when we got the goal it would be enough to see us home but unfortunately it wasn’t.” He said.

Moyes also praised Steven Pienaar after his brilliant finish for the second goal and claims it should have been enough to win the game.

“If Henry had done that here in days gone by they would be raving about the finish so I think Steven deserves any plaudits he gets – it was a fantastic finish. Two deflected goals have gone in but we had chances to stop it in the build up to both goals.” Moyes added
