Steven Pienaar: Goal Against Arsenal Was The Best Of My Career

EPL Football News – Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar says the goal he scored against Arsenal at the weekend was the best of his career.

The South African player made the score 2-1 to the Toffeemen by charging from the half way line to leave Arsenal’s Spanish keeper Manuel Almunia helpless.

“The only thing I remember was that there was plenty of space in front of me and I thought: ‘When am I going to get to the goal! I think I was only centimetres away from his hand but you have to have confidence to do that. I think I will have to watch it again to remember it properly, From what I remember now that I have seen it, I think I will say it is the most beautiful goal I have scored. The game plan was to be aggressive in the midfield. Give Arsenal two metres and they will play you off the field but they were missing a lot of key players. Song was not there and we knew we could get them on the counter attack. We stuck to it and it paid off,” Pienaar told EvertonTV.
