Another Year For Frank Rost

Hamburg has extended the contract of their experienced goalkeeper Frank Rost, who has been in the team since 2007 when he arrived from Schalke. His new contract will expire in the summer of 2011, according to Bild.

“Frank is not just a key player on the pitch, but he’s also a very important player off the pitch. He’s a great personality and his presence is crucial for the team,” said Humburg head coach Bruno Labbadia.

Roost now will focus to do all he can to help Hamburg’s struggle in chasing the Bundesliga crown.

“I will stay at HSV for 18 months more and I will do my utmost to help the club to success. The club have the possibility to win the Bundesliga and it’s important that the team continues improving, We’ve had some injury worries before the winter break, but we still sit in a good position in the table halfway through the season.Things are looking pretty good for Hamburg.” said Rost.

The 36-year-old keeper has made 100 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburg so far.
