Coppa Italia – Milan Progress Thanks to Late Flamini Goal Against Novara

Coppa Italia Football News – Milan have progressed to the next round of the Coppa Italia with a 2-1 win over Novara.
The Rossoneri began on the right foot, with Filippo Inzaghi breaking the deadlock after 12 minutes. The veteran twisted his marker inside the box and his shot took a deflection, looping over the helpless Alberto Maria Fontana into the net.

Despite the Serie A side dominating the first-half, Novara surprisingly took the lead early in the second period with a brilliant strike from Cristian Bertani. He beat Kakha Kaladze before firing past Marco Storari.

Novara worked hard throughout the match to try and stifle Milan, but it was not to be for the minnows as former Arsenal midfielder Flamini found the back of the net with ten minutes left to seal their progression to the quarter-finals where they will face the winner of Udinese – Lemazzane.
