Sir Alex Ferguson: Arsenal Are Still in Title Race
In a report intheir official website, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that it is far too soon to write off Arsenal as contenders for the Premier League title.
The Red Devils’ gaffer points to the Gunners’ run-in as being significantly easier than either his own side’s or Chelsea’s and thinks that gives Arsene Wenger’s men, currently three points off the top of the table, an advantage as we reach the business end of the season.
“Arsenal are bang in the frame now, they have the easiest programme on paper and it will be an interesting run-in. Chelsea losing (to Manchester City) was a good result for us, but there are a lot of hard games left.” Sir Alex said.
Despite Arsenal’s threat, Ferguson is confident that his own side’s experience and steely resolve will prove enough to take them to their fourth consecutive league crown.
“You have to focus at the turn of the year and make sure you don’t make mistakes, We lost to Everton and we were a bit tired. But we recovered against West Ham and we recovered again (against Aston Villa in the League Cup final).
“We have shown time and time again that this football club has determination. They don’t give in and that is a good quality. You will see that in the remainder of the season. We won’t give in.” he added.
