Spain Still Favorites for World Cup
Spain – worlds number one team – are still favorites to win the 2010 World Cup. England and Brazil competing in second place, while Argentina are beginning to get trust.
Spain has not wavered from the top of the list of winning the World Cup in the majority of betting companies. They began to dominate the international scene since winning Euro 2008, although they failed in the 2009 Confederations Cup when the United States eliminated them in the semifinals.
But the team coached by Vicente del Bosque is still rated as the current best, where one of the main indicator is that they still lie on the top position in the FIFA ranking list. David Villa’s performance is also very consistent.
In their last match against France in a friendly at St. Dennis, Spain performed well and got a win against the host. Two goals scored by Villa and Sergio Ramos shows their quality in front of Les Bleus.
Meanwhile, Brazil and England are second favorites. Brazil began to stabilize after taken over by Carlos Dunga, especially since winning the Confederations Cup last year. English are getting better as a team thanks to their Italian coach, Fabio Capello.
In action this week, Brazil managed to beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0, while England trashed Egypt 3-0 at Wembley.
In another big match last night, Argentina successfully beaten Germany 1-0. This is Diego Maradona’s squads third consecutive victory, after two previous wins over Costa Rica and Jamaica.
Argentina entered the four major stock bets, and even three in the site of William Hill. However this is a positive prediction for them, having previously been reliable because of struggling to get through the qualification phase of the South American Zone.
Other teams who entered the list of 10 candidates to win the 2010 World Cup is Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Portugal and Ivory Coast.
