Hannover 96 Defender Constant Djakpa Injured

Beleaguered Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 have received some disturbing news on the injury front in the build-up to the upcoming league match against Koeln.

Head coach Mirko Slomka will have to make do without the services of Ivorian defender Constan Djakpa after the 23-year-old sustained a serious knee injury during Wednesday’s training session.

According to a report in Bild, Djakpa went to ground after a duel with Hanno Balitsch and was forced to leave the training ground due to the injury minutes later.

Djakpa visited the hospital later on Wednesday to undergo further examination and a scan revealed that the defender needs to undergo surgery to shake off the injury. He will probably be unavailable for around six weeks.
