Carles Puyol: Valladolid Match Will be Tough

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has warned his team-mates not to underestimate Real Valladolid this weekend as La Liga reaches its climax at Camp Nou.

“This will be no stroll,” Puyol warned at a press conference.

“It will be difficult playing against a team facing relegation. There are no easy games,” he added.

Barcelona go into the final weekend of the season one point ahead of Real Madrid at La Liga’s summit while Valladolid are one of four teams locked on 36 points hoping to avoid one of the remaining two relegation places.

“Winning is what’s important, but doing it in front of our fans is a bonus,” the Barca skipper continued, though they may have to do it without Andres Iniesta who is still struggling with injury.

“We need to see how he feels and then the doctors will decide, but if he’s feeling good, he’ll play. He is training and things are going well. He deserves to play in this last game,” Puyol concluded.
