Benfica: Angel Di Maria Not Sold To Real Madrid
It has been reported that Benfica and Real Madrid had reached a €40 million compromise for club winger Angel di Maria, but the Eagles have moved in quickly to quash the speculation. Benfica’s organisational vice-president Domingos Soares Oliveira has confirmed that has not been sold to Madrid, according to A BOLA.
“Di Maria has not been sold to Real Madrid, we will not talk about exits. Only when we make official announcements will you take exits as guaranteed. Until then, there will be no intent from Benfica in communicating possible signings or exits. As you know, every offer we have in our hands has to be reported to the market [Portuguese Securities Market Commission]. We do not have offers right now, but it is natural they may appear.” Soares Oliveira said.
Di Maria, who joined Benfica from Rosario Central in the summer of 2008, is currently away on international duty with Argentina’s World Cup squad.
