Serie A side Lazio are closely wathing Werder Bremen‘s Hugo Almeida. Lazio are searching for a new attacker and coach Edy Reja thinks Almeida is a perfect addition to his squad, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Almeida recently stressed that he wanted to stay at Werder Bremen, but the towering forward is apparently having second thoughts now that Lazio have shown an interest in signing him.

“I know that Lazio are interested in signing me. They’re a great club and it would be fantastic to join them. I’d love to play in Italy and Lazio would be the perfect place for me. My agent is in charge of this, so I’ll have to wait and see what happens for now,” said Almeida.

Almeida’s current contract will end at summer of 2011 and Bremen are supposedly happy to cash in on the attacker this transfer window.
