Manchester City became the most active club in buying star players this summer. Of the eight players the got, six of them are high priced players.

At least 112 million euros were spent to bring in Jerome Boateng, David Silva, Yaya Toure, James Milner, Mario Balotelli, and Alexander Kolarov.While their city rivals Manchester United, only added one young Mexican star, Javier Hernandez.

Other big clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool are less ambitious in adding players from other clubs, the Gunners tend to choose talents that have not been widely recognized like Marounane Chamakh, while Liverpool only adds experienced Joe Cole from Chelsea with a free transfer.

Chelsea, who last season became the Premier League champions did not lose self-confidence to face the 2010/2011 season. The Blues did not do a massive shopping and only bought one experienced player in the Premier League, Yossi Benayoun.
