UEFA Bans Vuvuzela

UEFA have issued a ban on the use of vuvuzelas. European football’s highest authority prohibits any fans bringing vuvuzelas to stadium in Euro 2012 or in the Champions League.

UEFA said that this ban is a form of protection to the culture and traditions of fans who sing in every European football match. Vuvzelas became famous in the 2010 World Cup, but considered to be a negative effect on football.

“UEFA believes that the use of vuvuzelas does not fit in Europe,” said UEFA in a press statement according to AP.

A total of 53 European football federations also supports this ban, in each official game of international and local competitions.

Vuvuzela distinctive voice became a soundtrack of the 2010 World Cup. The voice that sounded like a collection of bees that sounds hard in every game. Some participants protested, but FIFA did not prohibit vuvuzela in the World Cup, because it is considered part of the African culture.

Such restrictions will apply on Euro 2012 qualification matches which will begin this weekend. And will be applied in the next round, Champions League group phase and the Europa League.
