Portugal national team defender Fabio Coentrao announced that he had extended his contract with Benfica. Coentrao will be with the Portuguese champions until the summer of 2016.

In the transfer market last summer, the 22-year-old left back was a transfer target of Bayern Munich. At that time he was offered 20 million euros from the German giants.

But the club from Lisbon refused the offer. Benfica want at least an offer worth 30 million euros for any club who wants to take Coentrao away from Benfica.
