Terry Venables Interested to Coach Wales
Coach Terry Venables intends to return to football by becoming the coach of Wales.
According to Mirror Sport Wales’ match against England could be the first task for Venables. The 67-year-old coach, who for some times became a television commentator, wants to bring Wales to the Euro 2012.
Sources at the Football Association of Wales revealed Venables wants to take over the spot now temporarily owned by coach Brian Flynn.
Wales lost their coach John Toschak after their defeat against Montenegro. Wales public wants Ryan Giggs to become coach, but Manchester United did not intend to release their veteran player.
Flyn will lead Wales in two Euro 2012 qualifiers, against Bulgaria and Switzerland, next October. He will be assisted by Alan Curtis and David Williams, who also will resign if Flynn is replaced.
But Venables is not the only popular figure who wants to coach Wales. One more name is Chris Coleman.
Football Association of Wales will certainly consider them. Venables certainly ask for higher salary. Coleman may be able to negotiate better about wages.
