Michael Owen is claimed by his coach, Alex Ferguson, to have shown a remarkable progress since joining from Newcastle United two seasons ago.

The statement by Manchester United‘s coach can not be separated from the success of Owen to score three goals in their last two matches.

Ferguson says, if Owen can maintain his good form, United’s starting eleven is not impossible for him.

“He is a tremendous footballer and I think he has shown progress since joining us,” Fergie told Soccernet.

“Owen’s contribution on Saturday (2-2 at Bolton Wanderers) is cluded in our records. His goal was also fantastic.”

“He is in a fit condition and his performance in training is outstanding since joining us,” praise Ferguson.
