Fernando Torres Will Play in the Merseyside Derby

Fernando Torres Liverpool 2011Liverpool striker Fernando Torres will play aginst Everton in the Merseyside derby this weekend.

Torres had was doubtful to play because he allegedly still suffered a thigh injury during The Reds 2-1 defeat against Blackpool two weeks ago. But word got out that the Spaniard was recovering.

Manager Roy Hodgson admitted that he is glad to hear the news that Torres had recovered and could appear in the derby which will take place at Goodison Park.

Besides Torres, defender Paul Konchesky may also play as well.

“Konchesky have done good recovery so that he and Fernando Torres can be brought into the game,” said Hodgson according to Tribalfootball.

“Torres needed time to be able to perform better because he often got injured since the last World Cup.”
