Eintracht Frankfurt Trash Kaiserslautern 3-0

German BundesligaKaiserslautern‘s losing streak extended to four matches on the trot following this afternoon’s 3-0 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. The visitors, meanwhile, won their third consecutive match thanks to a fine brace from in-form striker Theofanis Gekas.

Srdjan Lakic had a chance to put ‘Lautern ahead early after drawing a penalty from Giorgios Tzavellas. However, the Croatia international saw his spot kick saved by Oka Nikolov. Late in the first half, Gekas slotted in the opener for Frankfurt, who never looked back. The Greek completed his brace midway through the second half before Alexander Meier added a late third.

The result lifts Frankfurt to seventh in the Bundesliga table. Kaiserslautern, meanwhile, are 14th.
