Louis Van Gaal: Win Against Frankfurt is Bayern Munich’s Best Game Of The Season
Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal was thoroughly satisfied with his team’s performance in a 4-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. The Dutch gaffer deemed the match his team’s best performance of 2010-11, and claimed that Bayern are on the right track.
“I think we played perhaps our best game of the season,” he told reporters. “Eintracht Frankfurt defended very tightly, and made it very difficult. Nevertheless, we created many opportunities.”
“But the most beautiful thing I saw today is the conviction and passion that my players have shown. The fans have noticed this as well. I am happy because I think we are on the right track. We are three points away from third place, which is the minimum we need to reach.”
Bayern have struggled domestically for much of the season, and have already seen their title hopes diminish substantially. However, with three matches left in the fall campaign, the Bavarians are closing in on Bayer Leverkusen, who are third. (goal)
