Joe Hart: Manchester City Does Not Depend on Tevez!
Carlos Tevez once again becomes a hero for Manchester City as his single goal silenced Bolton Wanderers. Even so, their young goalkeeper Joe Hart denied that his team depends on the Argentinian striker.
The former Manchester United star took Roberto Mancini’s squad ahead against Bolton, when the game had only run for four minutes. The goals was enough for The Citizens (29) to put pressure on defending champions Chelsea (30), who slipped to third position after being held by Everton 1-1.
So far, Tevez had scored 10 goals in the Premier League. He is second place on the top scorer list after Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov, who had collected 11 goals.
Clearly, Tevez plays an important role for the Eastlands club. However, Hart insists, every player has a significant contribution to the team.
“No, we do not rely on Carlos. He (Tevez) does not run and score on his own. He’s got good service (from other players) and we have quality players,” said Hart, according to Goal.
“We could have scored goals from six different players today. Unfortunately, only Carlos was successful,” he added.
Furthermore, Hart expressed his relief over the success of City in getting the full points, after being held 1-1 by Stoke City last week.
“It was a relief to win again, because we played well lately. I think we were less lucky to get the most out last week. So, it is pleasing to achieve good results in front of our fans,” said Hart.
