UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – Schalke boss Felix Magath is not worried by his team’s near defeat in Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League win against Benfica, and set his sights on the Round of 16.

“We only took our foot off the gas at the end of the game,” he told reporters. “We knew we were through by then.”

Schalke led 2-0 and was quite dominant throughout the match, but conceded a late goal and saw a near equaliser rattle the woodwork before the final whistle.

Nonetheless, after finishing ahead of Lyon atop Group B, the coach kept a positive mentality and looked forward to the knockout rounds.

“We have done all we could and finished in first place. Now we need a little luck of the draw. I think that the quarter-finals is possible.”
