Werder Bremen striker Hugo Almeida is continually being linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side, but the Portugal international has now made it clear he won’t be leaving the Hanseaten in January.

“I am not leaving Werder Bremen this winter,” the 26-year-old attacker was quoted as saying by Weser Kurier. “I’m not interested in the rumours linking me with other clubs.”

Almeida’s current contract with Werder Bremen runs until the summer of 2011 and the striker has so far failed to agree terms with Werder about a new deal.

Clubs such as Real Madrid, Valencia, Sporting CP, Porto and Besiktas are all believed to be keeping tabs on Almeida.

The attacker joined Werder Bremen from Porto in the summer of 2007 and has since developed into a key player at the Bundesliga side. Almeida currently sits 144th in the Castrol Rankings.
