Villarreal will meet FC Porto in the Europa League semi-final after defeating FC Twente in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win in the second leg on Thursday (14/4).

This win reinforce the dominance of Villarreal over Twente. The Yellow Submarine wins 8-2 on aggregate after getting a 5-1 big win in the first leg.

Having to win by a margin of four goals to made Twente attacked Villarreal since the game started.

Twente was able to lead in the 31st minute through Emir Bajrami. Twente’s effort met setback after Dwight Tiendalli was sent off after a rough tackle on Wakaso Mubarak in the penalty box on minute 59.

Villarreal was also awarded a penalty kick. Giuseppe Rossi successfully scored the penalty kick to equalize.

In the 84th minute, Marco Ruben gave Villarreal the lead with anothera penalty after Bart Buysse fouled Hernan Perez.
